You need to first figure out where they are coming from. Once you figure out why you have microbubbles and where they are coming from then you can devise a plan of action to deal with them.
Return pumps typically do not generate air bubbles. It's likely that the air is being drawn into the return pump. Tell us more about your tank, sump and return pump.
There are a few different causes of micro-bubbles.
They can be caused by the return pump that is operating in too shallow of water - which results in the pump sucking air into it.
They can be caused by a improperly functioning protein skimmer - which outputs microbubbles and your return pump sends them to the tank.
They are commonly caused by the drain water entering your sump and having ineffective baffles for helping to remove them. This happens when you are running too much flow through your sump and the bubbles are sent to the tank through the return pump.
Definately determine the cause like mentioned before and we can give you better advice.
Check your water level where your pump operates. Check your skimmer and see if that is spitting out bubbles. Couldn't hurt to add a filter sock to your water inlet to the sump.
