micro mounting

i'm ready to epoxy my first frags to larger rocks.(they are on plugs now) will the shape of the rock determin the shape of the micro colony? if so is their anything you'd use to get a dome shaped colony? how do you guys atach your plugs? any info would be helpful thanks.

I don't like my frags mounted to a plug or disc. I like to get them cut and unmounted. That way I can mount it how I like. To give you an idea of how I mounted mine and used epoxy to make the smooth transition to the rock your mounting on. I think the smooth transition helps the ease of encrusting.

Thanks for the idea. I will do something very similar. how long do you leave them out of the water to dry? btw great pic All D I cant seem to get any good ones.

dry in the water .... USE water potable epoxy
