Microstars

Um...I am not sure what "microstars" are under discussion. Asterina? The small brittlestars?

I would say "probably" to both but would like more clarification.

micro brittle stars will eat food that your fish miss. if you dont have fish, and dont feed the tank, i THINK the brittle stars would survive off pods. but 2 brittles will eventualy become 200 brittles.

i caught a large mini brittle starfish and put it into a cup. 20 minutes later i had 4 super tiny but fully formed brittle starfish babys. aparently they form inside the central disk and are released.

Yup, the small white 5 armed species does brood its offspring in the disk.

The mini brittle's in my tank love the mysis I feed. They never come out from under the rockwork but I'll see thier legs extended shortly after I feed and when a peice of mysis floats by they grap it an retreat back under the rock.

As long as you're feeding you tank I think these guys will live off the scraps and detritus.

I dont know if mini brittles are the same stars I am talking about. The micros I am talking about are from floridapets.

Sorry about the newb-ness if they are the same thing.
