Liveaquaria says a Midas Blenny may nip at fire and/or gobies. Does anyone have any experience with this? I have a Firefish and a shrimp goby in my tank that I don't want to disturbed with a new fish. Thanks for any help.

thats strange...my midas leaves everyone alone! I have a purple firefish, a red one and a yashia with shrimp and my midas has never bothered any of them! they are great fish IMO...one they get setled in to your tank, the color is amazing! Its one of my favorite fish!

I have never heard of anyone having that experience either, I just thought it would be worth asking. Thanks for your input.

Mine gets along fine with my Yellow Watchman goby and my eight-line red sea flasher wrasses. He's a model citizen and one my favorites in the tank. Mine is the golden African variety.

I think they may be right. When I added my Midas Blenny, the next day my purple firefish and Tailspot Blenny went missing. I looked around the tank to serif they had jumped but did not fun them anywhere again "/
A day later my Midas Blenny was dead in front of my tank. Somehow he managed to slip through a very small opening in front of my tank. :headwalls:
So now Ian without purple firefish, tailspot Blenny or Midas

Ive only had mine for about 3 months now but hasn't bothered anyone else, neat little fish that im glad I picked up.

Should be alright. Midas blennies are gentle enough most of the time, from what I've read. I'd get a small one so it can grow up around the gobies, but it shouldn't be a major issue.

I had considered putting a Midas in my 30 gal and had concerns about the same thing. I decided that with the limited amount of real estate that it is best to go without the Midas.

Mine has nipped at my Chromis, but only to say, "get away." He has never hurt them. They may be just too quick for him to get ahold of.

If midas blennies are in too small of a tank they will nip at tankmates. The nips that a clown and chromis can handle are often more than a firefish can deal with.

Yea, i think the midas blennies is big. I am thinking of giving it to the LFS. I spent so much money on my pair of clowns. Their fins are nipped and I don't want them to stress out and eventually die. :(

My midas blenny is a little demon fish, and I love her:)
She doesn't pick on any of my other fish, but she does bite me once a week...and man she looks straight up evil. Very cool fish.
