Middle Plastic Piece on a 30 Gallon

Is it safe to remove the middle plastic piece on a 30 gallon tank?? I would assume its just there for when you have two separate cover pieces. I probably should have asked this before doing so, but I guess I should aks now before I get the tank up and running.

it is used for structural integrity. it keeps the pressure of the water from bowing. imo i would not.

If you're removing it for the light purposes then you can just replace with clear acrylic.

I have seen people remove them and they are OK. Not recommended though.

What is the height of the tank and thickness of the glass?

my 30 long didnt have a center brace
