Milky water

Hi,
I recently set up my skater tank it's 160L not including my sump. The water however is milky and has been like this since the second I added my saltwater in and has not improved at all these past 4 days. What's wrong with my tank? Is it bacteria bloom? Thank you!

How'd you add the salt to the water? Did you mix it before or after?

Do you have power heads moving the water around?

Did you rinse your sand?

Did you mix the salt/water first then add to tank?
A little more details about the specific steps you took would help..

Did you check salinity to ensure its correct?

Turn on your return filter with your filter socks if you haven't already. Same thing happened to me when i first put water in the tank. After a few days with cloudy water, i turned the return pump on with the filter socks installed and the water cleared up over night.

Yes I added water then salt and my return pump in my simp has been on the whole time so I'm not too are whyits like that..

For future reference, you're going to want to mix the salt water in a container before it goes into the tank. Many people use a Rubbermaid container or bucket before it goes into the tank. You'll at least need another powerhead or pump to move the water around.
