Mini bristlestars on sps

Everything I read about these little stars is good, that they are great clean up crew etc. I have pulled a couple of sps lately that were not looking healthy and gave them a coral revive bath and had about 50 birstlestarts comes off the coral, anyone know if they eat sps?

I have hundreds mini brittles in my tank. I have never seen them on a healthy coral. They like to go on the dead spots of corals that died on me though. I think they were feeding off the dying parts. When you dipped, did they come off the coral or the rock it was mounted on?

The white ones seem to be ok but I've had problems with the darker ones , I've seen them on coral with dead spots or dying. Whether they were eating it or cleaning up the dead spots I'm not positive but I don't trust them

I'm talking about the birstlestars with long legs, black/brown in colour.

They were on the coral not the rock but you could be right that the coral was dying and they were feeding on the dead tissue. I dipped a couple of healthy looking corals and there weren't as many on them but I had about 50 of them come off one large acro that looks poor.
