PM me iif intrested in this, i will 4 containers of mini grape holding approx 1 quart loaded with critters and 2 types pods, if intrested let me know while supplies last!!!!!

it is, but there are different types of the racemosa..this is the mini grape style, or at least i thought...its great stuff though, it works charms in systems, let me tell you how my algae just died off in my main tank in a matter of couple weeks

I agree, grows like crazy--- I had just a little bit mixed in with some chaeto last year... it took right off grew like a weed and pretty much took over the fuge I was running... I could never find out if it was "dangerous" (goes assexual and dumps spores) caulerpa or not so pulled it out-- do you run the light 24/7 or have you had any issues with this stuff---

I have a little bit in some chaeto I just got off of BigDaddyAdam a couple of weeks ago.

no way this stuff is the best growing macro i know offi run 80 watts of zoo meds on 24/7 and i trim every 2 weeks, my pipefish loves it, there are so many critters on each bud its awesome, you will never hear anything bad about this stuff, except one thing, that it takes over the tank, which is what you want in order for your micro algae to die off...unlless you want a show macro tank with slow growing macro, but theres not many nutrients being takin out of water with the slow growing stuff, now you can take a handfull of this stuff throw it in your main tank, and guarenteed it wont be there long enough to start growing, the fish love it, expecially the tangs and gobies..and at night you can see worms in the main tank come out and eat it...its decent awesome stuff...well worth the money execially if loaded with critters and pods

i would like some chaeto but dont know how it grows with fast mini grape growin so i bnever got any...yet....

I think the grape stuff will outcompete it-- mine did-- my chaeto stayed green, just didn't grow... the racemosa spread like crazy--- my fuge at the time was pretty small only about 8 gallons or so. I don't know how they would do together in a larger fuge.

i have 2 types of the racemosa, the grape outgrows everything, i dont know excactly the other scientific name but it but the Chnoospora minima is really green and has its own section wich doesnt seem to get grown over, its very thick...and seems to be doin fine, but then the halimeda kinds which i also have 2 types of that also is still alive but doesnt thrive like the racemosa does...so i mean its ok to have different kinds, its not gonna die, but it wont grow b/c the racemosa takes so manjy nutruients out the other types dont get much growth..even though it stays alive...i am using a 29 gallon for the macro tank...how much that cheato do you have? wanna rid some at the swap, ill buy from ya if you have enough to rid?

I don't have alot right now and won't be at the swap anyway (a new baby at home)--- maybe someone else will trade with you though.

sry all sold out, it all goes to upstate NY next sunday frag swap, need details PM me on directions to new chili, ny frag swap...thanks anyhows...

Hey spoon25

I read this on Fish Index about Caulerpa racemosa:

"great macroalgae. sops up excess nutrients, nice to look at, and a good food for herbivores. but beware!! if you discover one day that your tank is kind of cloudy, almost milky, watch the cualerpa closely. when it comes time for reproduction, the cualerpa gives off the milky white substance, then dies within a day or two. it will first lose all of it's color, then completely disintegrate, anf make a mess of your water quality."

Has this been a problem for you?
