mini maxi help?

I have been reading on these guys for the past few days and i still cant figure out why mine are trying to barrow underneath rocks? I got two of them from a local reefer and she said that they would do great in my tank. I have a 24in 4 bulb t5 fixture with 2 blue plus bulbs a fiji purple and a aquablue special bulb. I am still unsure why they wont sit still and continue to try to barrow themselves under my rock work. I drip acclimated them for an hour and a half.

They want to find a place that suits them. I don't think the behavior you're describing is abnormal.

Mine lives beneath a Monti cap by night and comes out about 80% by day. I wish it would stay out in the open, but it clearly has a mind of its own (so to speak). Less light would probably draw it out more.

Mines do the same if placed near a rock. You can try putting it in a place where their are no rock. That is what i did and it attached to the bottom of the tank. It is now completely visible day and night.

Extricating it from the nook between the rock and the Monti cap seems impossible. I'd almost certainly dislodge the coral and I think there's a good chance I'd damage the anemone.

what are the odds of removing a mini carpet from a rock?

Like the title says, I intend to remove a mini carpet from a rock. Any ideas on how to do this. (note, the rock will remain in the tank).

idk? im just gunna let them wonder where they want and move the coral until they are happy and build around them...
