mini mushrooms

I've been building up the number of corals in my 29 gallon tank very slowly. I have only a few species and a few specimens, mostly mushrooms. This weekend I moved my tank home from school. In resetting the rocks I noticed two small mushrooms that are a long way away from any of the large ones. This caused me to wonder 1. what is the process for the generation of these small mushrooms? And 2. do they move themselves or have I somehow introduced these animals from some other source? I didn't think they could move that much. These little mushrooms are a long way from any of the larger ones. I tried to look for information on the internet but couldn't get any definitive answers. Thanks.

mushrooms can move on a rock but not like an anemone does they more stretch across it and dont typically move very far...

but when they want to move good distances, they will unlatch from the rock and float around until current drops them some place new. they do this quit often with offspring so it is not uncommon to find them in new places

i get these little whitish baby shrooms from time to time. they will usually float loose then stick to something and start to grow.
