missing feather duster

I recently got a feather duster, well the tube any way, from a friends tank. Apparently it hasn't been seen for awhile. Is there any way to tell if it is still in there and alive?

Do you have any shrimp such as a pistol because they will move them to decorate their burrow. Hermit crabs could have destroyed it. Can you give me a list of what you have in your tank?

The previous tank didn't have any shrimp in it........... Either does mine..........
I guess a neon goby use to sit on the top of the opening alot.
This is a really big feather duster tube...........hawaiian feather duster maybe. I would say the diameter of the tube is close to a inch wide.
