Mithrax locally?

Anyone seen some in any Miami stores recently?

Just picked up reefwreaks nanocube and need to address the algae issue before I can move it into my office at work. Figured this would be the first step in the process.

Thanks!

Are you sure water changes and basic care are not the issues here other than a "quick fix" with a crab? Is there bubble algea? Are you planning a fuge mod in the back chamber? Skimmer? More flow? Just thought I would throw that out there.

I think a mithrax, a sea hare, and lots of skimming coupled with a couple of well timed water changes are the key. Some carbon and phosban wouldn't hurt, either. Personally, I'd banish the rock to a sump with a few crabs, and let them take care of it, and put new rock in.

What kinda algae? That makes a difference.

Remember algae needs light, nitrates and phosphates. Nitrates and phosphates may not show up in the test. But its there stored in the algae.

The tank was out of care for a while while Eric was at school, his mom was overfeeding and there is now an outbreak of both bryopsis and bubble algae...I would banish the rock but it has coral on it.

I am planning on water changes, heavy skimming and when it gets set up in my office it will have a fuge attached. I am also running a phosban reactor. I'm also planning to run a 4 on 4 off lighting schedule that should help as well.

The mithrax and sea hares will at least get me over the initial hump of removing what I could not physically remove by hand.
