Mixed Reef Invader

Looking for advice. We have a MR with LPS, Clams, and Leathers. Now there's this invader that hitch-hiked its way in! Brown star polyps that are more trouble than cyno! Scrubbing just seems to aggravate the issue. What do we do?

have you tried pulling the mat they grow from up? I had green stars choking out some palys, I pulled the mat up, it wasnt hard to pull and cut with an exacto

They just grow back. Thought about a long needle urchin, but they like to eat coral sometimes. My system generally has high NO3, but recently I've got them down. This may have affected their growth.

You sure they're star polyps and not aiptasia/colonel hydroids?
