Mixed Reef Upgrade. help!!

Hey all,
I currently have had a 40b tank running for just over a year and back in August picked up a 120g (4x2x2) on the cheap and finally got it wet, I figured Id see if anyone else has went through this daunting task of transferring to a larger tank. I have used all new dry sand seeded with a few cups of old sand from 40 and about 100lbs of BRS pukani that was acid bathed and bleached. Im planning on treating all livestock to some sort of dip process to help rid any unwanted hitchhikers and parasites.

My main concerns:
1. Going from a 4 bulb t5 to dual AP700's
2. New tank has Reef Octopus biopellet reactor running and not sure if i should just run another cycle on new tank or is seeding with old sand enough of a kick start.
3. Im going to be transferring vertex omega 150 from 40b to 120 but dont want to leave all livestock in 120 without a skimmer going as im pretty heavily stocked at this point.

Im sure il think of more questions, both tanks are up and running so there is no real rush besides having to maintain two systems but I can live with that for now.

Thanks in advanced!
-Steve

I don't think there's a reason to move the skimmer until there's something to skim. If you let the new tank go through it's cycle, then move it when you transfer the fish over. I would transfer any coral last. Once the fish are out of the 40, there won't be any new waste to bother the corals, so they'd be fine for a while. Biggest trouble I see is getting the fish out without removing the rocks and most of the water.
