mixing fish

Have a quick question.
I recently added a fish to my new tank. The fish i added is a yellow tang. My question pertains to what type of fish i can mix with him. His temperment is listed as :bold" I have been searching around and i have found that some triggers are listed as bold as well while others are listed as aggressive. Can i mix other "bold" fish with him? I eventually want to add some clowns as well.

I would not add any triggers or other tangs in with him if he is in the 46g. You can add clowns, wrasses, or basically any other fish that has a different body shape and feeding habits.

A Yellow Tang [or any Tang] will outgrow a 46 quickly..Not a good choice for your tank size..Pygmy Angel such as the Argi would be a good choice as well as Clowns, small Hawkfish, Gobys..etc...

so i can put any type of clown in there? Even some of the larger ones like the maroon clown that can get to 3 inches? Wwill these or the tang bother any of the smaller clowns?

i think a maroon would be ok, but it might get a little crowded as the tang and clown get bigger... i personally wouldn't go for a maroon because they are pretty aggressive.

Maroons are very aggresive and will actually grow to 5" or more.

Like stated above, Maroons get VERY mean and can get up to 6"..A Tang won't bother a Clown...may play follow the leader
