Mixing invertebrates w/ pistol shrimp

Depends on the pistol shrimp, generally the small species are algae and detrius eaters, others eat shrimp. Better tell us what type of pistol you have, .22 or .44mag

Shouldnââ"šÂ¬Ã¢"žÂ¢t be a problem. I have a Tiger and Blood Red for few years now. Pistol always stays in his burrow so chances of argument between them :) are very remote.

Sorry didn't see that you had updated the species.

Tigers are mostly algae and detrius eaters, great shrimp.

Iââ"šÂ¬Ã¢"žÂ¢ve never seen mine eat any algae or detrius. Did not even know that any of the pistol shrimp eat algae.

Anyone know about the Candy Stripe Pistol Shrimp? Would he be fine
with a cleaner or fire shrimp? Also is he a good match for a symbiotic
relationship with a yellow watchman goby?

I think that all of the symbiotic pistols will be safe with other shrimp. 90% of the time they are inside of their burrow so their interactions with other shrimp are unlikely. I am not sure, however, if the candy stripe with pair up with YWG.

I have two pistols with my skunk cleaners, blood and camer shrimps with no problems. One is a tiger pistol and it comes out of the hole very often to look for food. The other one...is all chockolate brown is slightly larger and I see once every three months or so. I hear him couple of times a day thou....

here they are, just thought I'd show ya all picture.

Oh, Yeah.. I have two yellow watchman gobbies in there too and one of them stays with a pistol in its hole and the other one has its own burrow. Sometimes during the day the yellow gobbies get together and stay together during the day but in the evening the other one always goes back to its own hole to share it with the pistol. Amazing....and it cracks me up.
