mixing kalkwasser with powerhead

My auto top off system have a small hydor brand powerhead inside the bin with Kalk and water. Will the high pH of Kalk damage the pump(for mixing) or insulation around the power cord going to the pump?

What is your thoughts on this?

I wouldn't worry about the power cord. It will be fine.

As far as the pump, the impeller may wear out faster due to the calcification of the kalk. It's really no different then using a pump driven kalk reactor though. Give it a good cleaning every other month and it will last you a couple years, if not longer.
