mixing puffers...ok?

You should be fine. A porc and a dogface generally leave each other alone. Porcs are also very gentle except for the odd exception. What size tank?
Some people use the rule like tangs and don't mix the same body shapes. I myself have had multiple porcupines in my tank with no problem. I was holding a porc for a friend for about 3 months.
Heres my two puffers who actually follow each other all over the tank. They are rarely apart:

You should be fine. You can usually mix a spiky one with a smooth one.
My porc is my favorite fish. I love the way puffers interact.

The store I work at we have a dogface with a porcupine. They are buddies....I kinda want to set up a big tank for them so they don't get seperated.

yeah should work. Some puffers are pretty unpredictable, and they tend to be pretty individual. But man, NOTHING is worse than puffers fighting, I have seen some GRUESOME things.
i put the two puffers together and here's what happenend.
the dogface (which is bigger) noticed the new guy and swam over to the other side of the tank in curiousity. he did puff up a bit and the porc went toward the dogface a little bit seemingly displaying that he would stand his ground.
the dogface swam back to the other side of the tank.
now what i notice each day is that they are both together however, the doface seems a tad "bigger" than he was before. he's not completely puffed up but he doesn't seem as slim as he was prior to putting the porc in the tank. also, the dogface used to mope around alot more, now he does similar to the porc and swims up and down in the corner of the glass. am i too assume he wants to get out and is stressed a bit?
i dont see them fighting, and with the nerdy look on the porcs face, it seems as if he just wants a friend
