I have been using kalkwasser the past few month, the basic 1 teaspoon per 1 gallon in my ATO tank.
32-gallon DT
2 gallons ATO
Here is the thing, I don't really get much evaporation per day. Its probably about 1/2 quart per day. That being said, by the time I get around 1 week....it basically looks like the kalk all precipitates and settles at the bottom of the container. I keep the kalk solution in the ATO with a sealed lid, with just a drilled hole in for the 1/4" tubing which returns water to the DT.
I have been reading where adding vinegar will disssolve the kalk more and cause less precipitation.
Just curious if 15 mL of vinegar per 1 teaspoon of kalk is still the standard?
I should mix the kalk in the vinegar first, then the add the RODI water after?
(BTW, 15mL seems like a lot to me...)
