Mixing wrasses

I'm curious about possibly adding two types of wrasses in my 55gal. I'd like to do leopards (2-3) and a flasher. Would there be an issue mixing these types? I also plan to add a coral beauty angel in the near-ish future. I'm aware of the issues with leopards not eating and having parasites.

Also, when should I add the wrasses? My tank is almost three months old. I'm fine with waiting- I just don't want to add them too soon if I need to let my microfauna populations increase a bit more.

That would depend, do you have any other fish in the tank? I would not add a leopard to that size without a sand bed as well to support. You could get away with a coral beauty and flasher/fairy.

I've currently got two clownfish, a yellow clown goby, and a valentini puffer.

I can live without the leopards. My husband thinks that they look cool, which is why I'm asking about compatibility.

In my experience, getting a healthy and eating Leopard in the first place makes all of the difference. I have gotten them shipped and at the LFS. LFS is my preference for a few reasons, but most importantly you can spend some time watching the fish, have them feed the tank, etc.

But a sand bed is a must as noted.

IMO I wouldn't get a coral beauty for your reef because they are known to nip at corals.

You absolutely cannot keep a leopard wrasse without sand. They will try to bury themselves, and hit glass with their mouth. A leopard with a damaged mouth is a dead one.
Any type of flasher should be fine, stay away from larger fairy wrasses, and I wouldn't recommend any Haliocheres, although it can be done.

Angels (some pygmy's) are hit and miss. I have kept angels and never had problems, and others I have had problems. It depends on your comfort level that it 'may' happen. A lot of people have success with the Cherub pygmy angelfish.

I would recommend letting the tank mature a little more before adding leopards. They qill coexist with your other stock, but sourcing healthy, eating individuals helps your success.

Any flasher wrasses, and all of, but the largest fairies will work.

A tight fitting lid is a must with all wrasses, and as previously stated a sandbed is needed for leopards.

I've seen pictures of the blue headed and yellow headed wrasses. They are both gorgeous but from what I've read, pretty territorial and hard to keep - not at all what I want for my tank (when I finally get it up and running). Does anyone have any experience with these? TIA :)

ETA: WHEN I get up and running, I will have a 75 gal hopefully mixed reef with 30 gal sump. Obviously, these fish area long time in my future. Just thought I'd ask since I saw the thread.

They both get pretty aggressive. Both will target the eyes of fish they don't like,

To make sure we are all on the same page, I assume the blue headed wrasse is Thalassomo bifasciatum Halichoeres garnoti are commonly called yellow headed wrasse. However I assume maybe you are talking about Thalassomo lutescens (Banana Wrasse)?
