Moisture in new house

I was just wondering a few things about all of the water the fish drink in my tank, that what happens to it right? :-)

Anyways, I lose around 1.5g a day in a home that was built 4 years ago. The house is fairly tight and I do get some condensation on the windows when I have the blinds shut and its cold outside. Not enough to worry me but I have to wonder what happens to all of that water that evaporates in the house. More so during winter when I have all of the windows shut. I do have the tank uncovered, dont want to block any light or trap the heat (mainly a summer issue).

I also notice that when I open the cabinet under the tank I can feel the moisture come out. The cabinet houses the sump/skimmer.

Are there any issues I should look out for?

IMO. Do you run a humidifier on your furnace? If so you may want to turn it down or off. Add dehumidifier to the room, run the water that is collected through a carbon filter and dump it back in to your system, as fresh water top off. If you do nothing just keep an eye out for MOLD.

I don't think one or two tanks would be a problem.A friend breeds fish and had his entire basement filled with equipment. He had a vent system with a heat exchanger to vent moist air but keep as much heat/cool temp as possible.

We run a dehumidifier or our windows condensate. We have a very tight well insulated house. If we don't we need to wipe the window frames and sills a couple times a day.

Hey, I second checking the humidifier. I've had to turn mine off completely.
John
BTW, thanks again for showing off your system yesterday!
