I think joining gets you into members only activities but lectures you don't need to join for? (Well that is my impression at least maybe someone can chime in with a more firm answer)

Meetings are open to everyone, though of course we encourage you to join. Most meetings are held in the zoo's educational building, which is to the left of the main entrance. No tickets to the zoo are required (the zoo is closed at this time of night anyway). Park in the lot closest to the main entrance. Just follow the rest of us fish nerds. Don't be surprised by the hordes of 10 yr old girls--the girl scouts frequently have sleep overs in the same building.
Occasionally meetings are held in the Aquatics bldg when the educational bldg isn't available. It's pretty cool to be in there after hours. For those meetings you park in the employee lot on Fulton road and walk in the back way.

That reminds me, I don't think the site said if we were in the aquatics or educational building this month....anyone know for sure?
