Monti cap question

Hey guys I have some montipora growing close to some frogspawn. The frogspawn has put a couple burn spots on the edge already. Will it just stop growing to that edge and grow everywhere else, giving a full appearance or it will it cause the colony to die?

Basically do I need to frag it back away from any lps it grows up to, or can I leave it?

My cap always stops growing only at the point of stinging and grows fine everywhere else. The whole colony continues to grow fine. I just break off the attacked edge for better appearance.
