monti caps and reaction to flow

I am trying to decide where exactly to place some monti cap frags. I have a ton of flow from one nozzle that runs lengthwise along the bottom back of my tank. The flow hits the end of the tank and naturally shoots up towards the water surface. I was thinking about mounting one of the monti cap frags right in that corner in the hopes of having the monti cap grow and eventually deflect the water flow back sideways into the water column away from the water surface. I thought I would ask you guys what you have seen as far as monti cap growth patterns in reaction to laminar flow. In case it makes any difference, this flow is the return from my sump. Thanks!

I think growth might have some to do with flow but I think overall the coral will grow however it sees fit. I've moved caps all around and has the same growth patterns.
