A few weeks ago I mentiond, I had a Monti that was seeming bleach from the bottom up and found a type of Nudi that was devouring it. With the help of St.James, we discovered the Flat Worm Exit by Salifert would kill them relativly quickly. The method we used was to put the coral in a small container and ad a few drops of FWE and within a few minutes they were dead. I did this on only two of the three types the Monti's that were being attacked and over several weekes. It seemed to work great and every so often I would see another Nudi and repeat the same process as well as using the advice of Steve Lowes by scrubbing the under sdie and base of each piece with small soft toothbrush to ensure I got the eggs as well. (FWE..will not kill the eggs!) So this morning I was looking at all my corals and noticed that the 3rd species of Monti in my tank had a Nudi on it, So I set up my container and removed the coral to be treated...Below is what I found on the underside!!! A nest of about 20-30 large Nudi's 1/4 " in length and over 300 eggs. I do believe this is the source of my Nudi issue as I have not treated this coral before today.
I will keep you all posted on my progress.
