Hi All,

I got this as frag at a LFS and it didnt look too good at the time but has colored up nicely and grown like crazy and is now one of my favorite monties. Does any one know what kind it is?

Are looking for a show name or species? I have heard anything that is red with blue polyps called "Superman" so Superman Montipora can consist of at least three species of Montipora. Not the most reliable way to ID IMO.

For a species it might be Montipora orientalis if it plates when it gets bigger. Maybe M. nodosa if it keeps encrusting.

thank guys! i was wondering what species it is. It's polyps are not blue. They are more brownish/rusty colored than blue. They can have sort of a bluish tint at times but under 12k-14k they are more on the brown side. it doesnt apprear to have any interest in plating and has been incrusting for about 18 months now.

You're right, what I meant was "reverse superman monti" aka "mystic sunset".
