Monti ID???

So theres this monti at my LFS and i want it, but i want to know what it is first, if thats at all possible. This monti is an encrusting monti, Its a deep brown/purple color on the bottom with neon green polyps on it. any ideas? i know thats vague, and i'd get a pic but its at the LFS and i dnot think they'd like me taking pics of their stuff. just throw out some options of what it COULD be. Thanks

You could always ask them if you could take pictures. I always let people if they ask politely.

well i guess they really wouldn't care, i work there and all haha they'd just think i wanted pictures to like, get it and sell it to someone w/ my discount. and yeah it looks like a superman/rainbow and that kind of monti, just i've never seen the colors like that, and didn't know if anyone might know the "common" name for it. I'm looking to get it to frag it and sell the pieces, and if i do that i need the name thats why i'm wondering.

Well you can only call it a Montipora Danae, if you use a common name you can get yourself into a situation where you dont have the "original" coral that the name was created for.

Also admitting buying corals for the intent of buying to chop up for profit will get you kicked off RC pretty quickly.

well no like i love the coral, and i want it for my display, but i also want to cut a piece for my frag tank and let it grow out so i can frag it after that frag grows out.

So if I can't prove that my green slimer came from the original green slimer colony, and wasnt a subsequent wild import, I can't call it a green slimer?

Naw, it usually wont. Only if you're running an online retail shop.
