Montipora I.D. please

Tony B (UK)

Important cool title
This is starting to colour up, I think it may be a reverse sunset? Any other ideas as to what it may be?

It is developing a neon yellow/light-green body colour with red polyps:

Also this one, I have no idea what type of monti it is:

Thanks,

First one looks like a jedi mind trick to me, not sure on the 2nd one. Try the SPS ID forum next time though. :)

No its not a jedi mind trick, I have one of those already. The base colour is uniform and there's no contrast on the growth edges.

Its a poor photo and, the frag is still recovering from shipping, I think in february it will have fully settled and show its full colour.

Any other ideas?

2nd I've heard called reverse superman...or spiderman monti.
1st, hard to tell till its done coloring up...it could be a reverse sunset.

I was going to say Chilli Pepper monti for the first one but the polyps may be too close for that?????????? and I agree with the reverse superman on the second one. There is no way that is a Jedi mind trick not event eh same colors, I wish i had a picture of my mind trick on my phone but dont ;-(

tbh i like it that colour it reminds me of strawbgerry shortcake acro, maybe it could be strawberry cheesecake monti. lol

The first one is new to me, can you get a better photo of it? The orange monti is a nodosa.

There is no well known common name for either of those montiporas. The second is most likely the species nodosa like mentioned.

Both very nice though....perhaps rare even.
