caps have very small polyps like a tiny ring the size of the tip of a pen. often they are the same color as the coral making it harder to see. Not a coral I worry much about seeing the polyps come out
It can sometimes be easier to see polyps on the growth edge or underside of a Monti cap. Very small, and will look like a tiny ring or a very small flower.
