is there a preference on moonlighting -brand-color blu or wht and does the lunar cycle thing make a diff thx rh

Most people use white moonlights because its supposed to mimic the light from the moon. I have heard that it can stimulate your corals but that it is mostly for your night time veiwing pleasure.

The Lunar Blue-Moon-Glow LED (470nm) creates rhythmic glitter and shimmering effects. Its special luminance promotes lunar spawning cycles in corals and reef life. It also illuminates the aquarium so that the natural nocturnal behaviors of tank inhabitants can be observed.

Unless you have a dimmer on your moonlights, they dont do squat for your tank other than make it look "purdy."

what exactly would you like to know about base rock? Typically it is a very poor choice. The uncolonized surface gives nuisance algae a chance to take hold, it will never come close to approaching the diversity of life on true LR, and really isnt that much cheaper than LR.
