moon snails?

i bought these giant snails that don't have much of a shell from the lfs. he ID'ed them as moons snails.
they are huge blobs about 3-4 in and a light vanilla color.
he said they were awesome at cleaning so i got 2 and let me tell you they keep the sand spotless and come out at night to clean the rocks.
has anyone else heard of them or tried them?

well went back to lfs and told him off and never going in there again after going there for years.
should i remove then since they seem to stay in the sand and are great at stirring the sand?
they haven't killed anything i can tell yet.
