moonlight and AC III

Are a lamp module and x-10 control module needed to use the lunar pahase option on the AC III.

I recall there is an undocumented dimming feature on the 8th plug of a DC8. There is a thread about it somewhere in this forum. The socket is not fully tested/supported/and does not work in all DC8's.
