The "superman" looks like one of the ones coming into the stores and not the original. I experimented with one of those, but just couldn't get it anywhere near the same color as my original piece. I would love to see some pictures of it down the road to see how it's coloring up.

When I got it, it was brown, was a good price so I took it. I slowly started to see it color up - blue base, red polyps. All the new growth is the nice blue base, red polyps. I know its not the "original" but I am sure its going to be just as nice when its all colored up. The base has the same coloration as the "original" super man, and the polyps are the same color aswell in the new growth spots. I know this piece didn't derive from the person who originally gave it the name Superman, but I am sure theres not much of a difference.

Anyways, what I have noticed, is that it seems to be coloring up in the spots that are not recieving as much light, but I do not want to move it into a different spot where it would brown up again.

Rogger, if your refering to the piece me and you purchased together, that piece was purple from the start, and the polyps were a red/burgundy color. The whole thing ended up turning purple, as it wasn't a superman, but a "purple haze".

Mike, I have had the original from Atlantis for several years now. I purchased one in a store about a year ago that look very very similar to the one in your picture because I thought it had potential. Like yours, the new growth showed great signs of being red/blue but the middle remained blueish with rust colored polyps and the bright red polyps at the edge faded as they became "old" growth. I hope yours becomes a beautiful superman! I just wanted to share my experience with this coral.

Its definately understandable, as I have noticed that's how these corals are, for my sake, I hope it all turns this color :)
