I think that the 150 MH is the best option...if you can control the heat. In the back, you could set up a refugium and a protein skimmer...you'd have no nitrate problems then!But i would definately take out the stock filtration media; i think they are kinda worthless in a reef system

I don't know what all you want to keep in the tank, but you have many options with this. You can buy a canope that has everything in it. A MH, PC, Moonlights and fans. It will set you back a few hundred dollars, but its nice and simple. It sits right on the top of the tank. If you have a lid made for your tank you can do a retro kit. You buy the balist, bulb and fixtures. You have to mount them into the lid yourself(no big deal). With this you have a few more options as to what kind of lights you want to use. I have a 20gl nano with a 175wMH at 15k, and 2 NO atnitces
, and a moon light. I did it all reto. It looks good, its just more work than a premade canope. Here is a pic of my tank to give you an idea of what the tank looks like with the lights on. Hope this helps. Good luck.
