Hmm.. I don't think those are ricordeas... I think they're rhodactis :D

Still very nice though. Is it just my eyes playing tricks with me, or do they keep the GSPs at bay?

KiKnChikn - It is not your eyes. They do keep the GSP at bay, I actually frag them and use them to help control where the GSP "roam" - a corral if you will..

I had no idea that they were rhodactis, when I bought it originally (it was just 1 piece) and it was listed at the LFS as a ricordea... I always had my doubts but was never iterested enough to figure out what it actually was... Very cool.

Thanks, Patrick

Rhodactis still has my vote as well. Great pics! Really neat to see the shroom holding back the GSP. You can even see where the moushroom has expanded and attacked it. So cool! :D

:D Thanks! The orginal rhodactis got to be 8 or 10 inches before it started splitting and competing for space with itself. LOL. The main patch of them probably has 10 to 12 and every once in a while I will rip one off and replant it somewhere to help keep the GSP from growing up on something I don't want it to... I have some that are as small as a quarter and the biggest one right now is around 6 or 7 inches...

Before the original one split I used to hand feed it and watch it ball up around its food now I mostly let them scavenge what floats around in the tank after feeding the fish.. they seem to do fine... They also LOVE cyclopeeze!!
