More water help please

So i posted almost a week ago because I added water conditioner which also helps with the slime coat of fish to my tank because I used tap water and my skimmer has been acting crazy. I let it run hopefully to get better but it hasnt changed at all. My cup will fill up in like 5 minutes with water and very little waste. At this rate I will lose a couple gallons a day. Is there something I can put in the water to counteract it or do I just need to drain it and start over? I am running carbon which doesnt seem to help. Is there something I can do? Any advice would be appreciated.

You are still pre cycle, right? If so just turn off the skimmer for a few days / a week.

Ill try that but it just seems that its in the water now and wont go away. Hopefully it will work.

Time and water changes will help.

3 cups of black diamond carbon by marineland, no water changes. Change out the carbon every three days for about a week to 10 day and everything will be back to normal. This is what I had done in the past to remove seachems Prime from my 120 gal. But remember no water changes they will make things worse.

what about a HOB filter like say an EMP400 with all 4 carbon filters in it?
