mother of pearl!. wow that it is looking nice. i mean it was always looking nice when you were down here, but all grown in like that is WOW. you might be motivating me to upgrade rather than downgrade
so how about starting a thread about it with specs and stuff? i've forgotten a ton, and haven't kept up on all the new stuff, so any info would be helpful

.
still using that sump?
LOL, yeah man! So, I actually broke down that tank in Sept because we moved and just put everything in a 300gal rubbermaid, since i planned on upgrading to a 300gal+ (which I am now in the process of setting up a 320 rimeless  ). The main reason i was upgrading was that i had not been able to put a new addition in that tank for 2yrs and thought they would look great in a bigger tank. So now for the unfortunate news... in Nov. I noticed that my pH (probe) was reading 8.6+ consistently and my CO2 for the CaRx was running constantly. I had bought brand new probes, re-calibrated, etc... still reading high. Then dreadfully noticed the SPS RTN' ing. This went on for about 2 weeks. Lost ALL the SPS and Clams!!!!! Had a another club member test my water (chemical pH) and come to find out though mine read 8.6 it was really about 7.6 (CO2 overdose)!!! My Tunze calibration solution had went bad, so no matter how many times i re-calibrated brand new probes and was always spot on, it was a inaccurate measure; which made my CaRx try to compensate for the high pH....UGGG! So, lesson learned always have a back up chemical pH test kit when using probes and make sure you use brand new single use calibration solution packs, not the bottles (like I had).
On a lighter note, the tank ran flawlessly for the past 3yrs up here! Used the sump Matt and I built, ran the MRC MR2 skimmer, added a GEO 624 CaRX (made a huge growth difference fyi..), just dosed kalk in ATO, Mag maybe once a month (whenever low), Lumenbright SE 400w Reeflux 12K, MP40w and Apex to monitor and control everything (makes life simple until i allow it to compensate for pH changes)
Long story short, i loved the setup, ran smoothly and never touched a coral, just let it grow... I'm finally (though never will really be) over the mishap. Somehow all the LPS, softies, nems, fish, etc... survived luckily. I just test filled the new tank/system this weekend and will pretty much be starting from scratch, but isn't that the fun of this hobby; watching a frag turn into a massive colony (that's my motivation at this point

) of course over 2-3 yrs:hmm5:. Matt I am very sad that i lost some of your finest corals, but hopefully i can get some back from the 2 or 3 WAMAS members i gave frags to for instances like this.
So, yeah... Matt 30gal??

JK i know you better then this, that's less than a fuge for you

Though i would like to see the Radion do its thing for SPS. That is the only LED fixture that i have seen SPS actually grow, so hopefully it works out! I wanted to do them, but i would need a minimum of 6 for the new tank!!! (8ft x 2.5ft x 2ft) Way too much money for me right now! Wow, totally highjacked your thread, but since i haven't gotten to talk to anyone here in 3yrs or so, thought you needed and insective to get back to where you were in the reef world!
To Matt getting back in
