Mounting montipora

Wondering if most leave it on a plug or attach to rock and place on reef.as it encrusts will look more natural but not like a branching coral reefs and s kina flat

I've been leaving mine on the plug but I cut the stem off. I've been seeing a lot of people that remove the plug all together and thinking about doing the same myself

i think it depends on how well the frag has grown onto the plug. Usually I chop off the stem and glue on rocks especially encrusting types of coral.
