Mover Extraordinaire

I used to keep a nice 75 gallon tank with my father, but now that I am living on my own, I plan to move a few times in the next few years. I average a move every six months. I dearly miss having a tank, but would moving a FOWLR 40 gallon tank be the worst decision I could ever make? The next few years without a salt water tank seems agonizing, but I would feel terrible if I killed the innocent fish due to a move. Is it possible to move around and still keep a nano tank?

i'm not sure this matters to fo tanks, but i've heard that even if you reuse water and keep the lr/don't cause a cycle, the "maturity clock" is effectively reset.

I would do it without hesitation. If done properly and providing you have a well thought out plan...Moving a 40g tank can be done quite easily. Now if you are talking about cross country moves....different story all together.

just go for it. A friend of mine eseentially moved his 3 times in the last year. The first was a 75 and then the upgraded 125. His is full reef with corals and fish. No dieoff on any moves but he was also in the same city. I'd say prepare yourself with the battery air pumps and heaters and you will be fine.
