I will be moving to North Idaho from West Oregon in about a year and would like help in figuring out how to do this.
I plan on packing everything in the Uhaul and doing the tank last.
I have lots of buckets for as much water as I can possibly take with me. I planned on getting a bunch of bags and bag up all of the corals and fish, and pack them into a bubble insulated and foam box. it will be summer, so heat packs will not be necessary.
I will throw all of my live rock in the buckets with the water, which should prevent them from having too much die off. The sand will be put in another bucket full of water.
I plan on this being a long process, I will take down the tank, drive for 10 hours, and then set it up right away. I imagine that handle time for the livestock will be in the realm of 20 hours.
Will this be ok? What are the chances that everything will survive? Any suggestions you have would greatly help, along with stories from those of you who have done similar things.
