moving a tank(changing stands)

i'm getting a custom stand made, so i will need to transfer my tank. it;s a 35g tank with sump and hot refugium. is there any way that i can change the stand without completely emptying the tank, can i drain the tank to a quarter full so i don;t have to take everything out and just switch the stand?

another option is to make my new stand the same height and then just slide it to the new stand.

Your main concern is the weight, if theres too much you will blow out the bottom when you move it.

how much weight is too much? would it be safe to remove all water and maybe most of the rocks, i want to leave the base rocks if i can so i can easily set up the same rockscape.

h2o weighs 8.3lbs/gallon

Id recommend about %98 pf h20 (enough to keep the sandbed submerged) and put your corals and rock in buckets for the time being...

anything i can do to reduce the stress of the fish and corals? will this cause a small cycle>?
