Moving an Aquarium - Some Specific Q's

Hey guys,

So in about a month, I will be moving about 3 hours away and I am planning on breaking down my 12 gallon tank and setting up the same tank at my new location.

The Livestock:
1 False Percula
1 Condylactis Anemone
1 Leather Tree Coral
Various Mushrooms
Nassarius Snails
Hermit Crab

14lbs of LR

I am thinking of putting the existing tank water, sand, and and the livestock in the rubbermaid container pictured below:

I have air tubes attached to the lid of the container to provide the water with some aeration without having the water spill out of the container. Do you guys think this setup will work?

I am also planning on adding some ammolock to the water for the inhabitants.

Let me know if you guys think my plans are feasible. Thanks!

1. I'd probably separate your livestock. Maybe even individually double bag each and put them in a cooler together. Temp is most important on a 3 hour tour.

2. I'd ditch the sand. It'll be more of a problem when you put everything back in and will likely release lots of junk and nutrients causing more of a mini cycle.

3. Take the water in whatever won't spill. A few salt buckets might work fine. I'd also probably take an extra few gallons of fresh mixed too.

I did the same thing with a 25 gallon aquapod. I put the sand in a 5 gallon bucket. Corals in another couple of 5 gallon buckets. Fish in another 5 gallon bucket. The rest of the rock and water in whatever other buckets I needed. I kept the fish inside the cab with me along with the coral to keep them "warm" and the rest went into the back of the truck.

4 hours later I set it all up again. Lost nothing. I kept lids on everything, and put small air hole in the center of the lids on the fish buckets.
