Are they able to move where they want like a plate coral would because my clam is always facing the light but always in a different spot but never .5'' where it was last.

clams have a "foot" that they use to secure themselves. I notice that when i first put mine in the tank it was moving around in circles and thowing itself off of rocks. IMO it just doesn't like where its at if its moving around. Maybe you should try another spot. goodluck

Yes, clams will move around if they do not like where they are at. It may be a light issue or it may be a current issue.
