Moving Mangroves

I am assuming this would be the best forum to ask this question. From what I have been told, if a mangrove tree is "uprooted" it will die, is this the case? Is their any way of moving a mangrove w/out killing it?

Thanks,

Allen

I have moved my 6 mangroves a few times now and have owned them a year or so. i think you need to treat them alot like you would coral. They aren't fond of salinity changes for sure. The only time i have had trouble after moving one was when i had a pygmy angel picking at the root system.

I appreciate the advice, sounds like their is at least a chance they can be moved safely. Keep in mind they are fairly well rooted into a 6" deep sandbed, when moving them, should I attempt to replant them into their new home?
