Moving tanks, need advice or suggestions..

Going to be moving my tanks in the next month, 2 20s and 1 5gal. Pretty small stuff, but thought I would ask any advice, suggestions or hints. Going to setup water the day before and get the SG right. Also, going to keep about 1/4 of my water to be used during transport. Figure to bag/bucket corals and fish up. Bucket liverock, leave sand in place. Any other suggestions?

Sounds good, drain most of the water and only leave enough to keep the sand wet. If the sand is more than a few monthes old or if it is deep I would replace it, 50/50 live and dry sand should work fine, Im just not much for useing sand a second time. The moveing tends to free up lots of gunk and cause algae blooms in my experience. You may try takeing the old water with you and using it to rinse the sand out real well when you get it in its new home, but sand is cheap. Bag each coral and fish seperatly and put them all in a cooler, buckets for LR work great so do rubbermaid bins. I just transfered 300lbs of rock, tons of coral and fish as described above with no problems. Good luck, youll find it easier than you think!
