So I've been researching and researching and researching and just not exactly coming up with all the answers i need.
So I have a 29 Gallon JBJ Nano Cube that is getting too small for my leather coral and decided I need to upgrade (my justification to going bigger in my mind) and looking at a 70 gallon tank.
Current tank is about 2 years old and my plan is using all the rock and water that is currently in it. I unfortunately don't really have the space to setup both tanks and letting the new one cycle prior to transferring fish, also the cube is in the spot that the new tank will be going as well. Currently I'm trying to see what recommendations everyone has for transferring all my fish and corals hopefully successfully.
Another question I'm trying to figure out is since I currently have about 30lbs of live rock and started off with live sand, I was thinking of just getting another 40lbs of dry rock and just moving the current live rock in and hopefully that will seed the dry rock instead of getting existing live rock and trying to cure it somewhere else. Also should I start off with fresh live sand? Or should I go for dry sand and take a cup or 2 of my existing live sand and use that to seed the new sand? Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
