Moving yuma

Recently bought a couple of yumas and put them in my qt tank. My qt is a 90g with 2x175 mh and 2 110 vho act. They moved of their rock and I placed a piece of rock in a plastic container and put them in the container so they could attach but they seem to sliding under the rock in the container. I've put them in different location and diff. flow but they love to move. What's the best way to attach these buggers? Thx in advance for any replies

Your lighting might be too strong. Yumas are usually pretty good about attatching if they are under the proper lighting and the flow isn't too strong. I personally haven't had much luck keeping them under MH. They never seemed to get a good hold and I would find them the next day or two moved to a different location.
I keep them under PC now and they are growing larger than my FL ricordias.
Even flow that you wouldn't think was too strong can cause them to detatch and move lower in the tank. This also seems to depend on the color. I could be wrong, but the green, brown, orange yumas, mine at least, don't seem to like any flow at all or lighting stronger than would be needed for most low-light loving mushrooms.
This one finally found its spot out of direct light and seems to like its new location.

and yet this yellow loves the stronger lighting.

If it won't attatch it is probably just not a good place for it. Straping it down under MH will probably stress them to the point of no return.

yumas will adapt fine to high light. You more than likely got a wild colony, which dont have a high succuss rate in captivity. keep them off to the side for now, but in a 90, just keep them anywhere near the bottom-meduim flow.

these are 2nd and 3rd generation aquacultered about 4 inches from the surface. 400wMH

good luck and I acclimated them to the lighting about 3-4 weeks from lighter MH.

Wild colonies are tough any way that you look at it! good luck!

Thx for the replies. This particular one is wild and if I were'nt such a computer goof I would post a pic. Most yumas seem soft and mushy but this one is quite firm and keeps it's folds intact when I've tried to move it. Maybe it's anemome tendancies are taking over.
