mp10 bearings?

well after about 25 pages of reading it appears people are using the 687zz bearing…but every listing i find for it says the bearing is only 3.5mm and the bearings in the mp10 are 5mm…is this still what people are using or is there something i am missing here?

It depends on manufacture date, I believe they switched sizes along the way. The hardest part seems to be when you have a pump with stuck bearings. Do not chip inner magnet removing bearings as it will be tempting to just try and scredriver it off. Take your time and be careful and it is an easy job minus the blisters from pulling and pinching vice gripes if you try to improvise.

Correct about chipping the magnet. Be careful when removing, I used a "v" shaped piece of thin steel to support the bearing and used a punch to drive out the shaft. Part number from BOCA bearing was SMR147-ZZ #5. HTH.

phx, thankyou for the part number and info. i will be ordering these tomorrow…i wasn't too worried about the magnet, pretty handy with tools and stuff like this, always careful…

on a side note how have these bearings worked out for you? everything running nice and quiet now?

pretty sure manu date was july 2010.

For the most part yes, the new bearings got rid of the obnoxious whine. They did not make it silent but 80-90% better. I did this about 2 years ago and still going good. Good luck. BTW the reason I new the part number is I ordered two sets in case it didn't last, haven't needed them yet.
