MP10 ES to QD upgrade

Hey gang,

Have any of you upgraded the driver on your older mp10s to the new QD?

Will the new driver actually make a difference? I hear its night and day on the MP40s but that got a whole new revision.....

I want to hear from the MP10 owners... did y'all upgrade?

Thanks

I did on the two I have, I ended up having to replace both wet sides. They would decouple on startup. This did not happen on the old ES controller. I went back to it to make sure. After the new wet sides every thing is working OK.

Lol not big enough drummer boy....

N, now you're scaring me off from it... Like it will unleash all sorts of problems that aren't there

All I know is I have MP40QD pumps and I later added 2x MP10WES and it sounded like a lawnmower was in my tank compared to the 40QD haha. I have not had the chance to use the mp10QD, but I would think that it would also be silent.

Just wondering if it's worth the risk of messing with something that doesn't REALLY.... Need messing with.

Sure the mp10 gets whiny at 60+% but $50 and then noisy wetside after upgrade? I don't know...

I did the upgrade, I think it is great.. Mine decoupled a few times.. when I called ecotech they said that sounded strange and sent new wetsides

So two things,

It's for sure quieter, and second, if wetside trouble arises, they'll take care if the issue no problems?

it was an improvement, but not as night and day as the mp40 was... and their customer service has always been above and beyond.

How did you get them to give you free wet sides. I had to buy mine, even after talking to them about the issue. They did suggest replacing them after cleaning did not help.

I upgraded both my mp10's made a huge difference. I had one that would squeak when it was working in a pulse mode. I thought a was going to have to change the bearings but after doing the upgrade the squeak went a way. It was worth the upgrade.

I upgraded my MP10ES non W, to QD wireless, have loved it, no issues whatsoever. In fact the only decoupling that I have had has happened on MP10 that I bought as a QD. My ES upgrade to QD has never decoupled.

It is a lot quieter that is for sure. I can actually run it at 75+% and not be annoyed.

Great. I've actually had the upgrade box sitting on my counter but got cold feet...

So safe to say my mind is at ease setting it up.
