mp10 settings

have an mp10 on my solana 34 that is going to be sps only, was wondering which setting i should put it on

I love reef crest, and feel it gives the best random flow for SPS. I like playing around with the short pulse mode to create a wave every once in awhile.

When I had my Red Sea max 34 gal, I ran my single mp10 around 75-85%.

I keep mine on short pulse to make a 1/2" or so wave in my 30 cube.

It's not an MP10, but I also use short pulse (sometimes nutrient transport) mode with my MP40. It works well if you don't mind a bit of extra noise, anyway.

short pulse is waaay too loud. I have to keep mine 2 on Reef Crest because the noise is distracting. Its a definite design flaw and draw back of the MPs.

Lagoon @ 100%. It moves more water than reef crest at 100%

he has a 2ft cube tank...more water isnt always better if its blowing sand/corals all over the place. Its a delicate balance in a tank that size...unless its barebottom and doesnt have a lot of rock.

I have a 10g AIO, the display is roughly 8 gallons, inhabitants include some seriatopora, caulestrea, capnella, cyphastrea, a few zoanthid frags and a 6 line wrasse.

Everything is doing well with a turnover rate of 175x. The key is to ensure that nothing is getting direct laminar flow.


His tank is 4x the size, an mp10 at 100% regardless of mode won't be too much.
